Aashish Pathak is the Music Solutions Engineer at Vistex, bringing a unique, two-sided view to rights and royalties. He learned the business first as a working composer earning rights and royalties, then he built the technical expertise to help songwriters, recording artists, publishers, and labels effectively manage them at scale.
Aashish got his start as a live musician playing multiple instruments across bands in New York’s East Village scene, before building a career composing music for film, television, and video games. He learned performance rights and synchronization royalties (the primary income source for most media composers) firsthand, developing a lasting commitment to protecting the rights of the creators who earn them. That commitment led Aashish to Vistex, where he broadened his expertise across the full music rights ecosystem, working with songwriters, recording artists, publishers, and labels alike. His consulting work has included major labels, publishers, and media companies such as Warner Bros., Universal Music, and Viacom.
He has presented at MIDEM, one of the music industry’s premier global conferences, and has hosted webinars and written articles and op-ed pieces for Music Business Worldwide. He has also presented multiple times at VISTAS, Vistex’s annual summit. Aashish remains active in music industry organizations, including the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) and the California Copyright Conference (CCC).
Beyond rights and royalties, Aashish brings deep expertise in technical sales, cloud solutions, and enterprise pre-sales engineering, leading value-based demos, guiding proof-of-concept development, and translating complex technical concepts into clear business value. Equally comfortable with executive stakeholders and technical teams, his track record includes influencing large deals through consultative selling, technical vision, and customer enablement. Aashish holds a degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Indiana University.
