Courtney Austin is the Industry Principal for Wholesale Distribution at Vistex. She brings more than 15 years of experience helping distributors improve profitability through pricing, revenue management, digital transformation and commercial process optimization, including more than 13 years centered on pricing and revenue optimization. Courtney combines hands-on practice with strategic industry expertise, helping wholesale distributors navigate complex markets by building strong foundational data and connected processes that support effective pricing and profitability strategies.
Before joining Vistex, Courtney held leadership roles in specialty distribution, including at Composites One, where she led pricing infrastructure and market analysis capabilities supporting strategic growth. She also spearheaded business process efforts across sales enablement, master data, and pricing during a major enterprise transformation, helping lead the shift from legacy systems to a new ERP environment, master data and workflow solutions, CRM, pricing and cost management, rebate management, and price optimization capabilities. Her responsibilities included defining business requirements, data cleansing and governance, system testing, end-user training, and organizational change management. That experience gave her a practitioner’s view of pricing change, from the data foundation through company-wide technology adoption.
Courtney’s expertise spans wholesale pricing strategy and optimization, revenue management, cost management, rebates and chargebacks, master data management and governance, sales enablement, analytics, AI, and automation. She focuses on the intersection of data, technology and commercial processes.
Courtney regularly participates in webinars, speaking engagements, and industry conferences, including the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors’ (NAW) MDM SHIFT, sharing perspectives as a distribution practitioner and trusted industry advisor. She has also presented at the SAPPHIRE conference and multiple times at VISTAS, Vistex’s annual summit, as a customer and as a Vistex team member. Her thought leadership is primarily concentrated on wholesale distribution trends, specifically how market changes, technology, and evolving commercial practices affect pricing, costs, rebates, chargebacks, and profitability.
