Job Spec:

Our client in Stellenbosch requires an IT Business Analyst – Finance for a permanent role. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with Finance, Application and Technology teams with specific focus on the support and development of the Financial applications within Organisation’s.


  • Financial or  IT Degree or Diploma


  • Manage use of the ERP (ERPLX or BPCS) system for the Company, including system parameters and settings, system processes, system standards and functions used. Focus is on Financial and Costing systems, but would also need to understand all sub-systems in respect of integration effects into the ERP financials
  • Manage integration between ERP and other systems including GMP, WM9, Debtors, Hi-Volume, MMS and other systems
  • Data Integrity between Finance and all subsystems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve differences between the GL and the subsystem where they occur
  • Implement new modules/functionality across Southern Africa
  • Design, create or modify reports for the company with ongoing maintenance
  • Project Management for new installations
  • Manage in house ERP add on programs written in Cold Fusion or RPG
  • Keep ERPLX version current by project managing new versions when these need to be applied, and manage the incorporation still required modifications when upgrades occur
  • User Training, refining  system and operational policies and procedures when required
  • Provide advice to business of best practice and practically of systems
  • Assist business with Standard Operating Procedures and Training manuals
  • Analyse business flows to drive improvements and/or apply changes required due to new business processes or requirements
  • Create details specifications for custom programs if these are to improve control and efficiency
  • Design, build, test and deploy solutions
  • Technical support for systems in production
  • After Hours support may be required


  • At least 5 years’ experience working on an ERP system, preferably in the FMCG industry
  • Experience on the Financial side of the ERP system
  • Be willing to Travel, and be away from home from time to time
  • At least 5 years’ experience in writing SQL statements
  • Experienced programmer
  • Know MS Reporting Services system, SQL management server and Visual Studio with at least 3 years’ experience


  • Be able to investigate how currently unused or new applications within the ERP system be incorporated into business functions where there is benefit for the company.
