Job Spec:

Our Client in Cape Town requires an Integration Developer I for a permanent role. The successful candidate will assist the Team lead: Integration Implementation with System Design, configuration, investigation and administration of CA API Gateway (formerly Layer 7), SOA, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud implementations and custom systems.

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • IT-related tertiary qualification
  • API Gateway administration

Responsibilities
1. Perform day to day support

  • Design and Development of API integration solutions
  • Troubleshooting, Monitoring and identifying root cause
  • Improvement of systems and processes
  • Transition basic day – to – day administration and support tasks
  • Working as first line support for CA API Gateway (Layer 7)
  • Troubleshoot errors and investigate queries in the integration system
  • To assist & action assigned Remedy incidents and requests
  • Assist in capturing SOA governance information in an EA Repository e.g. Systinet
  • Assist in API solution consultations and design with clients
  • Configure API Gateway policies e.g. CA API Gateway

2. Development

  • Assist in developing API gateway policies
  • Contribute in standardizing implementation of API endpoint security
  • Work with other teams to implement API monitoring & alerting
  • Work to improve SLA management with integration clients
  • Assist in developing scripts on various operating systems
  • Develop SQL queries, triggers & stored procedures
  • Develop Java/.NET applications and libraries to support clients
  • Develop cloud solutions & applications i.e. AWS, AZURE, Google

3. Troubleshooting and Identifying root causes

  • Learn to work with network teams (internal and external) to troubleshoot and resolve firewall and connectivity issues.
  • Work with the different system administration teams to resolve issues e.g. permissions, SSL certificates, AD users and AD user groups.
  • Assist internal business units and third parties with Integration problem resolutions.
  • Investigate queries related to service access
  • Troubleshoot all services exposed through API gateway
  • Escalate problems with internal businesses and 3rd parties to the System Support for that System
  • Investigates, analyse performance and scalability of integrating API’s

4. Collaborate with the Integration Support team to smoothly transition new data flows and configuration into relevant environments

  • Learn to configure data flows using in – house built tools
  • To successfully implement data flow configurations for the DEV, QA, PRE_PROD & PROD environments

5. Improvement of systems and processes

  • Form part of internal processes improvement
  • Assist in solving recurring problems by improving solutions

6. Transition basic day – to – day administration and support tasks

  • To manage & action assigned Remedy incidents and requests
  • Support clients and 3rd party integrations
  • Automate recurring tasks through CI and/or other tools

Experience

  • 3 years Administering and Configuring an API Management Tool e.g. CA API Gateway, AWS API Gateway, WOS2
  • 3 years Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, I-series and AIX Environments
  • 3 years SOA (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML, ODATA, OAUTH, WADL, WSDL)
  • 3 years Performed Production support function
  • 3 years Enterprise Integration and Software Design Patterns
  • 3 years Threat Management and Security Standards (OWASP, PCI DSS, PoPi, Cyber Security, NIST, DAST, SAST, IAST, WAF, IAM)
  • 3 years Software development (Java, .NET, SDLC etc.)
  • 3 years Testing tools(JUnit, JMeter, SOAPUI, LoadRunner, Postman, Wireshark etc)
  • 3 years SQL competency writing queries and developing stored procedures
