This exciting opportunity based in Cape Town for a permanent role. We are looking for a SAP Finance Consultant with experience in SAP Finance within the Retail Environment.  The position will be part of a team responsible for the application development, implementation and on-going support of the SAP Finance environment.

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma; IT Qualification or Similar
  • 3+ Years’ experience in SAP FI and CO modules supporting:
    • General Ledger,
    • Accounts Payable,
    • Financial Accounting,
    • Fixed Assets,
    • Inter-company Accounting
    • EDI
    • Cost and Profit Centre Accounting
  • Automation of processes within the Finance environment
  • Proficiency in Office 365 (Excel in particular)
  • Must have solid understanding of business processes, especially within the Finance environment.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and professionally with internal and external customers, including all levels of management
  • Able to quickly learn and apply new technologies
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to multi-task on a daily basis, manage priorities, be a self-starter, work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality of information

Key responsibilities:

  • Support and daily maintenance of the systems and processes
  • Provide support to the business by analysing and clarifying the issue and resolving issues within the agreed service level agreement (SLA)
  • Highlight recurring incidents and processes and improve efficiencies
  • Functional and Integration Testing
  • Configuration of SAP FI, CO modules in IMG based on business requirements.
  • Fulfill audit requests
  • Interact with multiple departments, locations and business process owners to evaluate and determine most efficient use of SAP Finance system to support business and division objectives
  • Conduct end-user training
  • Focuses on converting business requirements into the architecture and design that ultimately constitute the blueprint for the solution
  • Relies on design patterns from their previous engagements, published reference architectures, and on guidance from industry standards and leading technology.
  • Provide motivation and guidance to the functional and development teams during the systems development life cycle.
  • Demonstrate IP transfer and facilitate knowledge sharing
  • Ensure clarity, consistency and completeness of own deliverables, and follow-up to ensure acceptable closure
  • Design, developments and integration with other internal systems and 3rd party systems
  • Accurate analysis and design of the business requests that meet specifications and requirements of projects and overall business needs
  • Provide high quality SDLC documentation to support the process
  • Assure timely completion of all assigned projects within the project expectations
  • Actively participate in knowledge sharing, training and mentoring to team members where required
  • Clear, concise and regular communicate and follow-up with the customer and leaders as to the outcome of their request
  • Meeting all team project metrics as defined by the project and the organization
  • Documenting new risks and issues as soon as recognized
  • Be available for occasional overtime and standby after hours
